Athletic Information
Huntington Beach Union High School Board Policy 6145.2 states students shall have a medical clearance before participating in interscholastic athletic programs.
Article 50, Rule 503 of the CIF Southern Section Blue Book states:
As a condition of membership, schools will require that a student receive an annual physical examination conducted by a medical practitioner certifying that the student is physically fit to participate in athletics. The report of the examination will be on a school board-approved form
that includes a health history. The physical examination must be completed before a student may try out, practice or participate in interscholastic
athletic competition.
Therefore, the Huntington Beach Union High School District shall require a student to complete an athletic physical examination before trying out for any sport on their campus.
Your school may offer a “Athletic Physical Day,” where students receive athletic physicals on campus for a nominal fee.
Please see your athletic director or coach regarding the date at time of the Athletic Physical Day at your school.
